Your Conscience and Contribution to Road Improvement

The engineers at City Rise Safety Services, California’s leading traffic control and traffic safety company, road safety, design traffic control plans for roadwork projects. The company provides personnel including flaggers and traffic control equipment including traffic cones, arrow boards, electronic signal towers and other devices to warn traffic and direct motorists around constructions sites—-safely.

The jobs the company does are a partnership with road crews doing repair work or improvements to the roads we all depend on. The hard working men and women doing the repair work ask only one small favor, that you the motorist exercise just a little cooperation and patience to slow down or stop as directed so the needed work can get done.

All too often some drivers think only of themselves.

You might say to yourself, I’m in a hurry and uh-oh, there’s road work. The sign says “Prepare to Stop.”

I’m not prepared to stop. Look, cars are slowing that means I’ll have to slow down too.

You sit with the other cars waiting. You contemplate breaking out of the line and doing an illegal U-turn to go back the way you came and seek an alternative route, but this is risky on a narrow two-lane road. Oncoming traffic in the other lane could hit you.

Ask yourself is it worth it?

Proper Road Safety and Flagging Saves Lives, City Rise Safety
Proper Road Safety and Flagging Saves Lives

The answer clearly should be no, it isn’t worth it. Your life is not likely to be so greatly influenced by getting somewhere five minutes (or less) later. Is it that important you should risk your life and that of other drivers?

According to statistics drivers can expect to encounter an active work zone one out of every 100 miles driven on highways and annually 40,000 people are injured in crashes in work zones in accidents that didn’t need to happen. That’s if the people had shown just a little patience. There is one work-zone fatality every eight hours in this country, or three per day.

Drivers sometimes become angry when they see warning signs announcing a road repair project and a “Flagger,” a person with a flag directing them to slow down or stop. These drivers sometimes blame the work crew for their usually five-minute (or less) delay.

Ask yourself are you not the direct beneficiary of the smooth repaired road that will result from the work?

Sometimes a driver will see road work crews standing talking to each other and make a mocking comment to themselves about how lazy the workers are (one person I know actually yells “CALTRANS!” at road crews, meaning the California Dept. of Transportation, a state-run highway management agency. In this driver’s mix-mangled logic, he’s apparently got it in his thick head that highway and roadwork people are lazy overpaid loafers whose sole goal is to ruin his life.

Road crews are instead highly trained professionals paid for what they do, work that is vitally important to maintain our roads, in jobs that are often physically taxing, standing on your feet for hours lifting, bending, digging, operating heavy equipment, in all kinds of weather—-a job many of us would not want to do.

Road Safety crews are allowed breaks just like you are at your job.

But the work is also dangerous. Every worker on a road project knows they are at the mercy of drivers and whether drivers are paying attention.

Approximately 20 percent of the highway system in the U.S. is under repair or construction at any given time.

Personnel at City Rise Safety Services urge drivers to practice some basic humanity and make a small contribution, very small, a tiny sacrifice if you will—-show patience and respect to road workers so that the road improvements everyone depends on can get done safely.

The Mission to proper Road Safety is to keep you safe but your help is needed to do it.

City Rise Safety Services is your complete traffic control and traffic safety company and will design a specific traffic plan individually tailored for your road project. The company also features a complete line of traffic control products and rentals.

California’s #1 Traffic Control Company

Who Is California’s #1 Traffic Control Company?

Who is number one? You are, Number Six! For any construction traffic project, you want to go with the best company available. No matter how good it is a website isn’t going to tell you what you need to know about the people you’re going to be paying to do the job is it? You have to see their face and hear their voice and see if their face matches the description. If you don’t have the time to do that because you have to make a decision soon, then this article will tell you which California traffic control company is the best choice. Redding, San Francisco, Fresno, Sacramento – every major city in California has traffic construction zones all the time – probably even several at once. It’s important to consider which company is actually the best.

Reputability Rating,

For any construction traffic project, you will need the proper road safety equipment. For any traffic construction projects, big and small alike, it’s best to work with a reputable company that will put the community’s safety first. Oakland, San Francisco, Lake Tahoe. You want to find the company that’s gone above and beyond and overdelivered for their customers time and time again. Why would a company not overdeliver for its customers? There’s only two reasons: One, because it’s a new company and hasn’t developed a system for customer satisfaction yet. The second reason is because the business sucks, they’re too disorganized to deliver consistent, high quality service every time. Those two reasons can be applied to any industry and hold true. There’s no difference in traffic construction safety control companies. You want to find a company with a lot of experience, who has no shortage of positive consumer reviews.

Size and Control,

It’s not always the biggest company, the most expensive, the most experienced, or the lowest price that’s the best in a certain industry. Sometimes it is, but usually they’ve got a combination of a few key factors. In life It’s best to avoid extreme ideologies, so if you go with a company just because it’s the biggest it’s probably a logical fallacy, it’s not good. If you go with whoever’s the cheapest, that might not be a good strategy either, maybe you won’t be getting the best service possible. But you don’t have a lot of time to make a choice so it’s best to go with a combination of a few key factors and within that selection you choose who your gut tells you is passionate and positive and ready for the job.

California’s #1 Traffic Control company is City Rise Safety.

The best traffic control company who is going to deliver you the best quality traffic safety is City Rise Safety. Lane closure, traffic safety, construction signs and traffic cones, arrow boards, flaggers, these things are just a few services a company like City Rise Safety provides. These guys are not only super easy to communicate with, they satisfy their customers by over delivering for them on these services. Their construction traffic drawings and planning, traffic management, training, and staff are all top class. A successful business is one that is able to operate at a high level consistently, because of their passion for their community. Think about it, every company is contributing a service to society and to its community. If a company doesn’t care about their community they don’t care about their service and their product. A company’s relationship with its service or product is symbiotic to its relationship with the community.

You can contact a number of companies within 15 minutes on the phone or through their contact form on their website. Another internet ninja hack is to message them on their Facebook page. If they’re worth a damn they’ll respond on Facebook within an hour or three. You can get a good vibe on them from a combination of how they engage with you and what people are saying about them in reviews. Any company that consistently over delivers for their customers will have plenty of positive feedback.

What is a flagger?

What is a Flagger?

City Rise Safety Services, California’s number one traffic safety company and traffic control provider, salutes the hard-working men and women who repair and improve our roads, one of whom is called “The Flagger.”

You’ve seen them before. It is hoped drivers will appreciate the important work done by road crews to keep them rolling along smoothly and safely in their cars, and the need to practice patience and to cooperate with the occasional delay caused by the necessary road work.

The Flagger,

might be called the eyes and ears even the conscience of any road repair crew. This is not far-fetched like you might think. The flagger asks us to help by the minor act of temporarily altering our driving speed so a road can be fixed safely with a minimum of inconvenience for us all —–benefitting us all.

On any road construction project where vehicular traffic has to be slowed and diverted so repair crews can fix or improve a road, the flagger is the physical presence closest to you as you pass by the site, or the scene of an accident. The flagger is the human being who holds aloft a sign instructing you to slow down.

Flaggers are trained to be polite and courteous with drivers but also firm, giving appropriate hand signals with a flag sometimes colored red instructing us to “Stop” or “Slow Down.”

City Rise Safety Services provides highly trained flaggers.

Flagger, City Rise Safety, the top in traffic safety, traffic control, and traffic plans.
City Rise Safety, the Top in Traffic Safety, Traffic Control, and Traffic Plans.

City Rise Safety Services provides highly trained flaggers for road projects and company personnel know that with flagging, the human touch is still the best. In spite of technological innovations, computerization and modern traffic signage that sometimes includes state-of-the-art electronically controlled modern devices that flash messages asking for your cooperation, it is still the flagger who commands the greatest attention.

Other road repair crew members might be facing away from passing traffic as they toil on their work. The flagger is instead concerned with you the approaching motorist. This is a psychological moment. Your eyes meet the eyes of the flagger. He’s watching you and you see the sign he holds in his hand asking you to slow your speed and exercise caution.

It’s the eye-to-eye contact that gets the greatest result.

Human nature being what it is, some of us are more apt to try and ignore an inanimate (non-human) sign.

At an accident scene and particularly with lane closures requiring traffic control and safety, the role of the flagger is critical. The flagger not only gains your attention and keeps you from “rubbernecking,” gawking at an accident, which could result in an accident involving you, but keeps traffic moving smoothly past whatever roadwork is taking place. The flagger keeps you fixated on the road ahead and not the distraction of the roadwork or the traffic accident—-the flagger is a vital component to keep you focused—and safe.

Flaggers in addition to signs requesting you to “Stop” or “Slow” also use hand signals, lowering for example a flag with an arm held straight out to the side asking you to stop, then waving you forward when it’s time for you to proceed through the area.

Verbal commands can also be given to drivers.

Flaggers are trained professionals in their work and not simply randomly hired amateurs. They should be accorded the respect they deserve because as the eyes and ears at a road work or accident site, they make order out of what could become chaos without them.

City Rise Safety Services with locations all over California supplies trained flaggers for your road project. In fact the company handles every aspect of road control and traffic safety support from developing traffic plans designed by engineers tops in the field, to providing and setting up needed traffic management personnel and equipment, barricades, warning signs, boards, towers and more. The firm also has a full range of traffic control equipment for rental whatever your need.
